Foundation Paper Piecing Class

Foundation paper piecing is patchwork quilting where strips of fabric are applied to a paper quilt pattern and trimmed on paper to accomplish perfect points. Following three easy steps, build a gorgeous traditional pineapple block. The paper is removed when all the blocks are sewn. This is for those who like sharp corners and angles. This is a great class to take in preparation for our event with Legit Kits.

Don’t wait until the morning of the class to collect your supplies!


Your personal sewing machine – (there are a limited number of rental machines for use during class – call IT& M)
Neutral color 40 or 50-weight sewing thread, with matching filled bobbin.
Pin cushion with a few quilting pins, Small scissors, and seam ripper.
Small iron without steam.

• From very light fabrics:
  •  1 – 3 ¼” square
  • 12 – 1 ½” X 4” rectangles.
  • From dark (not medium tone) fabrics:
  • 12  -  1 1/2 x 5"
• Wonder clips, Small rotary cutter, cutting mat, Small Wool mat or other small Pressing surface, Steam roller, Marking pencil/pen, optional - Glue stick, Add a 1/4 inch Ruler
